Architectural Veneer Systems was founded in 1998 by Steffen Weeks, a licensed contractor, Construction Management graduate (Chico State & Cal Poly), and lifelong craftsman.

Steffen began his career at a large-scale precast concrete company, where he developed deep technical knowledge in architectural concrete fabrication, installation methods, and the engineering that makes structures last. That foundation became the launchpad for AVS Stone — a company built not just on craftsmanship, but on innovation, problem-solving, and client partnership.

Over the past three decades, Steffen has been the go-to expert for architects, contractors, and designers who need custom solutions — not catalog parts. His work spans commercial and residential projects, high-end production runs, and collaborations with industry leaders like El Dorado Stone and Restoration Hardware.

His deep experience in both solid cast stone and lightweight foam-core systems makes him uniquely qualified to design, fabricate, and install stone elements for virtually any application.
